What is Christmas really about?

My dear friends...

A few years ago I shared the following message at the annual Christmas Eve service that the Conversations with God Foundation presents in Ashland, Oregon for many years. I couldn’t sleep last night. I was up from 2 until 6, having another one of my Conversations with God.

“Tell me about Christmas,” I said. “What is it really all about?” And I heard, “What do you mean, what is it really all about? I’ve told you a million times what...

Love being love and being loving

My dear friends...

Love is a Natural Emotion. When it is allowed to be expressed, and received by a child, normally and naturally, without limitation or condition, inhibition or embarrassment, it does not require anything more. For the joy of love expressed and received in this way is sufficient unto itself. Yet love which has been conditioned, limited, warped by rules and regulations, rituals and restrictions, controlled, manipulated, and withheld, becomes unnatural.

Embrace what you have discovered

My dear friends...

Last week in this space we spoke about how the opinions and observations of us offered by others can "run" our life, actually creating, in a way, our experience of ourselves. I talked about how this happened to me...and about how, finally, I broke out of that trap through deep personal exploration.

I had gathered much from my explorations. I gathered much from all those books, retreats, religions, seminars, and sacred interactions with others that I have spoken of here in...

Is your truth different?

My dear friends...

Knowing something and accepting it are two different things. I discovered this when I finished (or thought I had finished) my exploring. "Exploring," you will remember from our previous weeks' discussion here in the Bulletin, is Tool #3 in my creation of The Holy Experience. Today, we're going to discuss Tool #4: "Embracing." This is about truly embracing a new idea about everything--who I am, who God is, why we are here...everything.

I had spent years looking at many...

A lifetime-to-lifetime process

My dear friends...

Last week in this space we began a discussion of the difference between being a ”seeker” of The Holy Experience and being an “explorer” of it. Continuing on that topic...

Being an explorer of the full experience and knowing of life’s ultimate reality can often separate us from our family, friends, and peers, who wonder why we have not accepted the answers that they have found or accepted, and why we are not experiencing what they are...

Explore, but do not “seek”

My dear friends...

We have been discussing here what I have called The Holy Experience, in a long series of articles that have formed the content of The Weekly Bulletin now for many weeks, including last weeks double edition. I trust that these articles have served you, and I am delighted to move forward in this discussion this week with an observation about the difference between “exploring” and “seeking.”

I have learned in my life, after spending years looking for...

Exerting your Will is powerful

My dear friends...
In our last two entries here we spoke of yearning as an energy in the process of creation. We also said that there were other energies that can be equally powerful in the Force of Creation. And we promised that this week we would explore one of them. So here goes...

This week’s exploration focuses on Willingness as a Force of Creation.

When a Soul is willing for something to occur, that occurrence is much more likely to take place. When the Soul is not willing, it...

What chakras are for

My dear friends...

Did you know that the chakras of the body have a function and a purpose that most people do not understand? Last week in this space we took our first look at the human experience of “yearning” as a tool of awareness. Our exploration of this continues this week by describing this sensation in a way that opens the door to a larger understanding of the use and function, purpose and role of your body’s chakra centers. We have heard much about these centers in...

Yearning’ is a tool of awareness

My dear friends...

Did you know that even when your Soul is physicalized (that is, living with a physical body) it embarks upon a spiritual journey—often without you knowing it? You may not be consciously aware that you are having a spiritual encounter, but you are.

On the other hand, it is possible for you to produce such an encounter with full conscious intention. That is what the Spiritual Steps into Non-Awareness of the world are all about. So we are picking up here where we left...

How to be a fully realized person

My dear friends...

I spoke here last week about Ten Instruments that have helped many people build a platform for, or create a path to, The Holy Experience. To continue in my explanation of that, let me say that these steps include the Physical Tools leading to Awareness of the World (yearning, willing, exploring, embracing, explaining) and the Spiritual Tools leading to Non-Awareness of, or detachment from, the world (sound, visualization, movement, ritual, discipline).

By Physical Tools I...
